We have recently received the Mode Shift Stars Bronze Award for our work to encourage fewer cars on the road around our school and for getting our families and staff to walk, cycle or scoot more!

Monday 19th – Friday 23rd February
The aim of this week is to raise awareness amongst the children of the importance of positive well being and happiness. We will also encourage and support children to build resilience through developing positive coping strategies and becoming aware of the importance of talking about their feelings.
It also links to our Spring Term Christian Values of Peace and Hope.
It will be a jam packed week full of fun activities for each class. Below is a timetable of whole school activities. Running alongside this, each class will have a circle time to focus on the childrens’ support network and who to turn to if they are finding things difficult. There will also be plenty of opportunities for children to work together on practical activities, to strengthen relationships in class. Mindfulness sessions and activities will also be taking place throughout the week.
Pupil voice was very important when planning the week, and as a result, we will be running a ‘cinema afternoon’. The whole school will watch Inside Out in the school hall. This Disney film focuses on emotions.
Staff are still busy planning wellbeing activities so do watch this space to find out more!
This week will be a fantastic opportunity for the school to focus on the positive emotional well-being of each and every child in school.
We Love The Life Bus!
Through annual visits of the Coram Life Education - or the Life Bus - children explore factors affecting physical and emotional well-being, including hygiene, healthy eating, positive relationships, self-worth, decision making and drugs, such as medicines, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine and illegal substances. Coram Life is the only national programme that directly helps schools deliver age-appropriate drug awareness education across the primary age range.
