Inspiring and Empowering People
Welcome to St. Michael's CE VA Primary School - making a difference since 1818.
My name is Mrs Joanne Fradd and I am immensely proud to be Headteacher at this inspiring school.
St Michael’s is a very special place. We are a learning community where children’s personal development is nurtured and valued exceptionally well, resulting in children who thrive. Although our results are consistently high, our education goes beyond the academic. We enable children to be outward looking but reflective, knowledgeable but curious and secure in their faith and trust in God.

Prayer Space - 'Cardboard Home'
While exploring our value of Justice encouraged our whole school community to offer thoughts and prayers for others who may not be as fortunate as us - in particular here, children who live on the streets around the world.
There was also a Cardboard Home Prayer Space in the KS1 area.

We are really fortunate to have speakers of over 17 different languages at our school!
We use Google Translate to help us understand different languages in the classroom. Here is the link, so you can try it yourself:

Families First Portal
This is a directory of organisations, services and groups in Hertfordshire that can help you with problems you or your family may be facing, before things might get worse. This is known as 'Early Help'.
You may not want or need to ask for help from a professional and there's lots of support you can find yourself by looking on the portal.
Support for Parents at this time is available in partnership with Aspects Family Support Team who are running some free online training courses in July.

Information about School Closures
Hertfordshire have a new Schools Closure Notification System. All parents will need to sign up to this system to ensure that in the event of school having to close (which is very rare!), we can get the message out quickly to our families. This will replace any previous similar notification systems.
Registration is very simple, just click on the link below and go to ‘sign up’.
Hertfordshire County Council's School Closure Notification system
You will need to click on ‘sign up’ on the right hand side of the page, at the top. From there, follow the instructions given. It should take no more than 5 minutes to register and you can edit your information at any time should you change your mobile number or email address.
